OUR STORY
Tri-Lakes begins taking shape in 2023..
Tri-Lakes Vineyard was born out of the mission and vision of Vineyard Church of Wellsboro, a church committed to advancing the Kingdom of God throughout Tioga County.
As part of the Vineyard USA church planting movement, the vision for Tri-Lakes Vineyard began to take shape in 2023, when God placed a desire on the hearts of local believers to plant a church serving the communities of Tioga, Lawrenceville, and Millerton.
Vineyard USA
WHAT IS THE VINEYARD?
Vineyard USA is a community of churches with a common heritage and set of values. We are organized in a fairly simple structure, but we are mainly held together by relationships. There are some qualities you will find at almost any Vineyard church: intimate worship, openness to the Holy Spirit, a high value placed on relationship and community. At the same time, because we value the autonomy of the local church, there will be wide variations of church size, buildings, music styles, preaching styles, and any number of other things. We believe this diversity is a strength, as it enables us to reach the many regions and people groups of the United States with various forms and expressions of congregating.
What God did next…
Like many church plants, it started simply — with a small group gathering in a home to pray, seek God, and build community together. At its largest, the group included around 20 people. During this time, conversations continually centered around the need for an active, welcoming church in the area: a relaxed and outward-focused community where people from all walks of life could experience the life-changing love of Jesus.
From those gatherings, the idea for the Tri-Lakes Vineyard began to grow.
In the fall of 2024, a small team launched its first outreach event in Tioga by hosting the “Alpha” series on Sunday nights.
Following its success, the team became increasingly involved in local outreach and community events while also searching for a permanent meeting space.
In the spring and summer of 2025, an agreement was reached with the Tioga American Legion to rent their facility. By the fall of 2025, the team was regularly meeting there to pray, plan, and continue serving the community.
With those pieces in place, Tri-Lakes Vineyard officially launched its first worship service on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Today, while Tri-Lakes Vineyard shares the same mission, vision, and values as its sending church, Vineyard Church of Wellsboro, it exists specifically to serve the communities of Tioga, Lawrenceville, and Millerton and to meet the unique needs of the people who call those communities home.
“As we plant Tri-Lakes Vineyard, we do so with humble expectation— trusting God to advance His Kingdom as we carry the ministry of Jesus into the Tri-Lakes communities.”

“I am passionate about seeing people of our community—people of all ages—connect with Jesus. I believe that introducing people to Jesus in today’s culture must be done in ways that are new, exciting, and meaningful. I enjoy watching people step out of their comfort zone by serving and ministering as Jesus did.”
